About the Stables

The Stables at Frederica has been providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences to our guests since it was built by Sea Island Company in 2005.  Now serving Frederica Township, St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and all of the Golden Isles, the Stables is a destination for experiencing the wonders of horses both in the arena as well as through trails.

The Stables is owned by Allie Zorn, a St. Simons Island native.  Riders of all ages and abilities choose the Stables as their riding venue, whether it be for lessons, training, boarding, or trail riding on the pristine and private beaches of Sea Island.  The stunning facilities are enjoyed in a leisurely stroll or as the backdrop for private events.

The Stables at Frederica is a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy and proud member of the USEF, USDF, and USHJA.

Meet the Instructors

Allie Zorn

Allie is the owner and operator of the Stables at Frederica. A St. Simons native, she grew up riding at Cannon’s Point Hunt Stables and Sea Island Stables. After attending Emory University, Allie lived in Washington D.C. for several years where she managed one of the nation’s largest lesson programs. Since returning to the island in 2013, Allie has coached many students to championships at the local, regional, and national levels. She is a Bronze and Silver Medalist in dressage, serves as Region President for IEA Dressage Zone 4S, and sits on the USHJA committee for Recognized Riding Academies. She teaches hunters, jumpers, equitation, and dressage.

Mary-Katherine Williams

Mary-Katherine began riding at a young age in her north Georgia hometown. She ventured into teaching riding lessons and summer camps every summer through high school and college under the guidance of her mentors. Mary-Katherine majored in Equine Studies at Virginia Intermont College/Emory & Henry College where she gathered most of her formal education and rode on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team. Mary-Katherine is moving from North Carolina where she was the Barn Manager for a therapeutic riding program at which she focused on horse recruitment, care, and conditioning. She enjoys her time away from the barn with her two-year-old son (already a cowboy!), his father, and their three small dogs.

Elizabeth Register

Elizabeth began riding at a young age in her home state of Illinois. After moving to North Georgia, she focused  her riding on hunters and equitation. She enjoyed competing in IEA and on her local hunter circuit. Her mentors and head trainer emphasized horse welfare and discipline in all facets of the sport: a lesson she holds with her to this day. Elizabeth graduated from Georgia Southern University, where she competed on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team while earning her degree in Criminal Justice and Commission into the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. Today she is dedicated to the education of young riders and focusing on the inner workings of a formal lesson program. In her free time Elizabeth enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and two dogs, as well as volunteering at her local animal shelters.
